S3P combine shoegaze, electronic, psychedelic rock, and a little bit of dance music together into odd sounding sonic scapes that range from being danceable and fun to more open and trippy.
At new Ep “Only Love Will Save,” and single “Я живу мечтой” (“I live a dream”) musicians talk about global climate change and “the complexity of perceiving the modern world in the realities of human reality.”

“Secrets of the Third Planet is one of my favorite bands”
“Secrets of the third planet (S3P) are a Shoegaze and Electronica band from Moscow. They have started in the mid-2000s, with their first release in 2007.
They combine cleverly several genres: Shoegaze, Ambient, Post-Rock, Electronica, and a little bit of dance music together into odd sounding sonic scapes that range from being danceable and fun to more open and trippy. The song featured below is a great example.
And to be honest they did very well at it, with many great songs to pick that blend those genres very efficiently.”
“Secrets Of The Third Planet have dropped my jaw with a stellar space rocker called ‘Stars’ in the lead up to their new album ‘Birds Station‘.”
“The Russian quartet produce a mix of ambient rock, post-rock and shoegaze. Their work aims to push the boundaries of songwriting; with progressive structures and much sonic bliss.”
“The band marry mesmerizing pieces with airy vocals an with huge dose of energy. As in the title track Only Love Will Save with its involving high pace, in Other Way that in fact is a psychodelic ballad and finally in Дети космических вьюг, the album’s best song, also because the band singing in Russian sound even more cosmic and mysterious.”
S3P draws absolutely captivating sound and vocal lines in his compositions, leaving fragments of a delicate shoegaze, without pretensions of protagonism, wrapped in an electronic, even psychedelic and totally timeless climate.
The shoegaze radio plays them regularly and Deborah Sexton’s Velvet Hum show about Russia couldn’t be complete with them as one of the most long lasting and successful shoegaze acts:
They are of course featured on the map of russian shoegaze on Every Noise at Once:
